He has been asking for weeks now to go to the beach. Finally after spending the morning tidying up, we packed a picnic lunch, grabbed the bag of buckets and shovels, and headed to Lake Josephine. It was on the cold side and windy enough to make waves. There wasn't much actual beach because, like all the bodies of water up here after the monumentally snowy winter, the lake level was high. We are Minnesotans, though, and we take our sunshine when we can get it. Like the few brave sunbathers on their blankets, we recognized that today was absolutely splendid for beginning beach season.
