I found a way to extend mojito season thanks to Marisa at Food In Jars. Her recipe for Simple Mint Syrup can be found here. Thank goodness, too, because six months without my favorite drink makes for a long, unhappy winter.
Now that I've realized how easy it is to make simple flavored syrups, I think I will be trying my hand at more. The plan is to add them to fizzy water to make homemade soda as well as spicing up some adult beverages. Alas, the black raspberry syrup made from our foraging this year will likely disappear before the first leaves fall because it's too darn delicious to save.
